Welcome to the "New Era" in rescue. Traditional rescue organizations are not only struggling to deal with an increasing number of "Unwanted Animals" but also a decrease in private and public donations. We must re-evaluate our focus as a community and work toward solutions, not just rescues. Albeit noble, traditional rescues are focused on warehousing "Unwanted Animals" without any real solution. Too often, we are treating the symptom and ignoring the disease. Without a viable solution as part of the plan, rescue organizations only enable those responsible for the "Disposable Animal culture". These organizations become the dumping grounds for "Unwanted Animals".
Our goal is to work with individuals and organizations that will help us promote this paradigm shift. Our "Passion and Logic" approach relies on identifying the problem, developing a solution, then implementing an effective strategy. This Problem, Solution, and Strategy method of creating rescue organizations is the key to "Solution-Based Rescue" and is the future of the rescue community.
